Commentary: | “A Twilight Adventure” was published in The American Boy as part of a contest in which the editors published well-known stories with an incorrect title, and without the author’s name. Participants could write in and guess the author and title of the “Masked Story.” Winners, chosen from among those who guessed right, were named in the following issue, and awarded $100.00. [delete:] No records of the results of the contest have been found at the time of publication. | |
