Commentary: | Down river from the confluence of the Big Buskill and Delaware Rivers, is the ‘bathing beach’ called ‘Sandy Beach’ by the locals. It was a favorite recreation area across the Delaware River from Bushkill and accessed by boat from the Pennsylvania side. In the foreground is colorful lavender loosestrife, that grows along the river’s edge. Also see, #2346 and #2347. This landscape was painted over illustration, #2135. |
