Commentary: | The building featured in this painting was owned by Schoonover’s maternal grandfather, John LeBar, in Bushkill, Pennsylvania. It received the “Popular Prize” in the 1947 Annual Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts exhibition and traditionally hangs in the Green Room (main dining room) of the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware.
