Commentary: In addition to many landscapes rendered in the Bushkill, Pennsylvania, area, Schoonover began painting various scenes along the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware. Unlike the the Bushkill Delaware River landscapes, the artist rarely painted the same place along the Brandywine a second time.
Provenance: Sold by artist to Wallace Williams, Newark, Delaware (January 10, 1952); Lois W. Sutton, Landenburg, Pennsylvania [1982]; private collection [1994]
